Programs
The Alliance creates programs to ensure with a high probability that a specific organizational objective will be accomplished within a desired timeframe. When the objective is accomplished, the program team celebrates and disbands. We currently have three active programs.
Student Mentor Program
We understand that selecting process technology as a career choice can be daunting for students not familiar with process technology or for those students who do not have any contacts inside the industry. The purpose of this program is to develop a list of industry contacts that can speak with students, or arrange a process technician at their employer to speak with students, about what it is like to be a process technician and to address any questions they may have. These discussions can happen either one-on-one or by speaking to groups at partner institutions. Please contact executivedirector@glpta.com if you are interested in helping with the student mentor program.
Ambassador Program
GLPTA’s executive team has identified lack of broad industry support as the most critical issue we must address in the short term to guarantee the long term health of the Alliance. The objective of the Ambassador program is to identify regional Ambassadors (by state) that can introduce the GLPTA to local employers of process technicians. We hope to increase our number of contributing industry partners by 25 by the end of calendar year 2006. Please contact president@glpta.com if you are interested in helping with the ambassador program.
Web Site Development Program
The GLPTA executive team views our web site as critical to attracting new partners and also critical to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of our committees and programs. With the Alliance covering such a broad geographic region, the web site can be used to quickly share and distribute information amongst committee and program team members when working on GLPTA projects. It also serves as a very efficient way to communicate with all of our partners throughout the region. Please contact president@glpta.com if you are interested in helping with the web site program.
